Description

The split of the People's Party meant that its most hardcore sector regrouped. At first Right-Wing Populist and capitalistic, drawing from the halcyion days for their Vox precursors during the Black Tides, the lasting influence of said Tides eventually made it switch to National Conservatism, and later to National Syndicalism, even after its influence waned. Some commentators would say then that the century-long circle had closed. And indeed those hints of Neo-Francoism make it show differences respect to other far-right parties in Europe. On one hand, it has a strong confessional, cultural Catholic discourse that is lacking in most of the National Syndicalist current, and that speaks about its National Conservative past. This is done so even when many of its followers are virulently atheist, as they follow a form of Materialist philosophical doctrine in which the only framework that can redeem the human condition and its material inescapable limitations, in absence of God, is the juridical-political power incarnate in the nation-state, which in Spain is originally rooted in the unity of faith. This position is usually referred to as Neo-Buenismo, after the 20th century philosopher Gustavo Bueno. On the other hand, it presents itself with a transversal image that fits its projection as a radically democratic and participatory platform, a way for the common citizen to stand his ground. Still, it's hard to conceal that such differences with other like-minded movements are, for the most part, testimonial.
