Description
A very casual scenario, loosely based on a map by dead_wolf on AH.com: A world where all the modern irredentist claims as they appear on Wikipedia at the time of map-making are fulfilled. The backstory is just a poor excuse for the outcome: this world suffered a WWIII in the mid 50's after an earlier fall of Communism, resulting in drastic postwar population movements and border readjustments. A really crazy political turmoil in North America during the 60's made the American Southwest to secede and eventually develop a Chicano Nationalist identity.
As many claims overlap, I followed some rules:
-Claims over entire countries that have irredentist claims of their own are ignored.
-When two countries argue to be the same and claim each other, the country that claims more territory and thus has more to gain, engulfs the other.
-When a country claims mainland of another country, it gets it automatically, unless the claim overlaps with other claims of the same nature.
-When several countries claim roughly the same area, the country that would shrink the most due to the former rule and thus has more to lose, fulfils its claim.
Changes are as it follows:
AMERICAS
-Mexico gets Soutwestern US.
-Guatemala gets Belize.
-Venezuela gets Guayana Esequiba.
-Bolivia gets its warm waterport.
-Argentina gets the Falklands.
EUROPE
-Ireland gets united.
-Portugal gets Olivenza.
-Spain gets Gibraltar.
-Germany gets its pre-WWI shape.
-Poland gets the Kresy.
-Belarus gets chunks of Russia.
-Ukraine gets Transnistria and chunks of Russia.
-Romania gets Moldova.
-Hungary gets parts of Slovakia and Romania.
-Serbia gets Bosnia, Montenegro and Croatia.
-Albania gets Kosovo
-Macedonia gets parts of Greece and Bulgaria.
-Russia gets most of the Soviet Union's territory.
ASIA
-Armenia gets Nagorno-Karabakh.
-Azerbaijan gets the Azeri-populated Iranian territory.
-Iraq gets Kuwait and the Arab Iranian territory.
-Syria gets Lebanon, a bit of Turkey and Jordan.
-Yemen gets chunks of Saudi Arabia and Oman.
-Israel gets Palestine.
-Afghanistan gets the Pakistani Pashtun territory.
-Pakistan gets Kashmir.
-Bangladesh gets West Bengal and some of the Seven Sisters.
-Cambodia gets part of the Mekong Delta.
-Indonesia gets Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore.
-The Philippines get Sabah.
-Taiwan gets mainland China, parts of India and Myanmar, Mongolia and Tannu Tuva.
-Korea gets united.
-Japan gets the Kuril islands.
AFRICA
-Morocco gets Mauretania, parts of Mali and Algeria, Western Sahara, Ceuta and Melilla.
-Ethiopia gets Eritrea.
-Comoros gets the island of Mayotte.
-Somalia gets united and gets Northeastern Kenya and Ogaden.
