Speaking of other scenarios you could do(even though you currently don't take requests.) You could also do a scenario, where due to internal pressure, fascist portugal and spain decide to decolonize in the 1960s. Thus preserving their regimes.
I sincerely doubt decolonization would do the trick, and I don't know how the regimes could be kept alive without subtantially changing international events.
I do have a scenario where Portugal decolonizes in the 1960s, the result being (counterintuitive as it may be) it transitions to a federal republic.
